Elephants in India particularly in Kerala are not treated the way they deserve to be treated.If you consider the qualifications of care takers of elephants in Kerala you will be appalled to note that they have no formal training in elephant care.I know a few elephant caretakers who are past lorry/car drivers. What a pity!!!
Besides, there is no systematic way of taking care of the elephants even in the so called "elephant sanctuaries" especially clean drinking water and stuff like that.
I wonder whether there is a way to address this problem and find a lasting solution.
